TS120-Trauma, the Body, and the Autonomic Nervous System: Using Somatic Psychology for Resolution and Regulation Victoria, BC Oct 4 & 5 2010 - When bodies speak through symptoms they are often telling the story or stories of trauma and accumulated stress patterns of life. Addressing autonomic nervous system (ANS) dysregulation from a somatic perspective is key to resolving trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and developmental trauma on a physiological level. This workshop will conceptually link together the body, the brain, and the ANS and how it intersects with trauma. It will offer somatic interventions for working with ANS resolution and regulation in therapeutic and frontline workers. This workshop is offered for a third time through the Justice Institute, New Westminster campus and will be co-faciliated with Yvonne Haist, MEd. :: Register

Somatic Interventions for Addictions and Mental Health Issues - Maui HI - In looking at addictions and mental health issues through the lens of trauma, autonomic nervous system (ANS) dysregulation, and neuroscience, somatic interventions that facilitate affect regulation and regulation of the ANS offer incredible potential for stabilization and change.
This 2 day workshop will look at addictions and mental health issues through a psychological, physiological, and social lens and trauma informed practice. It will conceptually link together the body, the brain, and the ANS and how it intersects with concurrent disorders.
